PRBRES Releases February-March 2013 Real Estate Brokers/Appraisers Approved For Registration w/o Examination

The Professional Regulatory Board of Real Estate Service (PRBRES) has released the February – March 2013 board resolutions for the approval of the registration without examination of Real Estate Brokers and Appraisers. These were posted in the official Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) website.

These Real Estate Brokers and Appraisers are covered by the “Grandfather” clause of the RESA law. In a nutshell, they are licensed Real Estate Brokers/Appraisers under the DTI who were able to file their applications for registration without examination in time for the July 30, 2011 deadline as stated in the RESA “Grandfather” clause.

Even though these were posted at PRC’s website last April 1, 2013, this was not one of those April Fools Day pranks. Nevertheless, there is still a huge backlog of DTI Licensed Real Estate Brokers/Appraisers whose applications for registration without examination are yet to be approved.

These are all in accordance with Section 20, Article III of R.A. No. 9646 which is also known as the “Real Estate Service Act of the Philippines”, and Section 20, Rule III of Board Resolution No. 02 (Series of 2010), otherwise known as the “RESA Law IRR”, collectively known as the “Grandfather clause” of the RESA Law.
