Philippine Real Estate Festival 2011 will be on July 28-30

The 5th Philippine Real Estate Festival has been slated on July 28-30, 2011, at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, Philippines. This event has become a yearly tradition for me, which is why I really look forward to attending the Philippine Real Estate Festival 2011. After all, this is the fifth iteration of the Real Estate Festival and it should only get better each year.

But what’s in store for visitors this time around? Continue reading to find out!

This is the poster for PREF 2011 from http://pref-events.com/index.htm (click to enlarge). Yes, it seems they have a new website every year.

The Philippine Real Estate Festival or PREF  for short, is probably the biggest annual property festival in the Philippines. I suppose the only other event that comes close would be the Philippine Housing Fair. Anyway, the PREF 2011 theme is “Real Estate, Tourism and Media : A Tripartite Collaboration for National Progress”

What to expect from the Philippine Real Estate Festival 2011

During PREF 2011, expect real estate industry leaders to showcase the most up-to-date technologies, trends, and product innovations, while the latest issues, and topics, are to be discussed by real estate industry experts during various talks and seminars that are to be held throughout the 3-day event.

The topics I am particularly interested in would be:

  1. Atty. Eulalio Diaz III’s talk on “How can you check the Authenticity of your land title?”. Atty. Diaz is the current Administrator of the Land Registration Authority or LRA
  2. Arch. Felino “Jun” Palafox Jr.’s talk on “Global Trends: Best & Worst Urban Planning, Architecture & Real Estate Development”
  3. Professional Regulatory Board of Real Estate Service (PRB-RES) Chairman Dr. Eduardo G. Ong’s talk on “The Impact of RESA Law on the Real Estate Industry”
  4. BIR Commissioner Atty. Kim S. Jacinto-Henares’ talk on “Tax Assessment and Exemption on Acquiring Real Estate Properties for Development”

Actually there are a lot more topics that might interest you, just refer to the PREF 2011 program of activities below to see all of them along with their respective schedules.

The real estate festival also promises to help buyers find a property that not only fits their lifestyle, they can also choose from a variety of properties that matches their budgets, from the low-end to the high-end.

Updated listings of bank foreclosed properties

Of course, visitors will also see a lot of participating banks where real estate investors can get updated listings of foreclosed properties and acquired assets for sale. Licensed real estate brokers can also get started with their accreditation.

Free entrance for all!

Don’t forget, admission is totally free! Yes, this event is free for all to attend, and it doesn’t get any better than this!

My sister attended this event cause she is also a broker. I wasnt able to join too bad.. she kept on insisting for me to come… I will just attend next year…Good job guys!!

  2. I would be atttending on the third day, just in time that Chairman Ong will be talking about the Impact of Resa Law…..As a Real Estate Broker we should be very knowledgeable with the Law……………

    1. Hi Cecille, me too! Should be interesting! 🙂

But I will only stay for short time. I still feel under the weather. 🙁

  3. thank you for the posts , along with the information in it.
i am interested to know how we can help provide housing for the local nurses and ofw nurses who plans to settle back in the Philippines .
thank you and more power to entire PREF esp to indefatigable Ms. Rose Basa.
    God bless!

    1. You’re welcome Janette! I hope you were able to catch Atty. Darlene Marie B. Berberabe’s talk on “How the Self-employed can avail of Pag-ibig Housing Loan?”. It could be one way ofw nurses can get housing for themselves.

  4. Will this be spoken in English or Tagalog?

The main problem I have with philippines house building is the way you folks sell from plans?
I have read soooo many horror stories of Pinoys paying for their house then the real estate agents/planners/builders go BUST!

    1. Hi, J. Bourne. This should be in english, although you can expect some to speak in tagalog occasionally. I just hope the speakers will be reminded by the organizers to keep in mind that there is a big probability that there are non-Filipino speaking people in the crowd.

I’m really sad that those horror stories happened. I suppose the only way to avoid these things is for people to do their due diligence and only work with reputable real estate broker/agents who have a proven track record of delivering excellent services and also reputable developers who are known to complete projects on time as promised and don’t fold-up.

Thanks for pointing these out. Cheers!

    1. Hi JR, did you decide to get a booth? I will drop by quickly on day 3, even if I still feel a bit sickly. 🙁

I look forward to seeing you there!

  7. Hi Citizen Patrol. Yes this is totally free to attend. The seats for the seminar area are of course available on a first-come first-served basis, but people are free to stand and watch from the area surrounding the seminar area. if there’s anything that is not free, it would be parking at the WTC, and the food/drinks being sold in the exhibit area. 🙂

    Hi Jay,

I would just like to clarify if only the entrance fee is for free? Are there other miscellaneous fees, etc to be paid during the 3-day activity? If for free, is this not on a first-come first-served basis?

    Thanks much!

    1. Hi Caren, you will have to check with them directly. Based on the poster above, the number to call would be 8192058. Goodluck and let me know if you were able to get a booth so I can drop by. Thanks!
