Hi Dinah, as far as I know, financing from Pag-IBIG as an option to buying foreclosed properties is generally not accepted, unless it is for a foreclosed property under Pag-IBIG. I believe other banks and lending institutions are not keen with Pag-IBIG financing because it takes a long time to get approved. However, one way to go around this would be to buy a foreclosed property through financing offered by the bank/lending institution that has the property and then after the minimum term or holding period(if any), you can apply for a loan take out from Pag-IBIG. Once your loan application from Pag-IBIG is approved, they(Pag-IBIG) will issue a letter of guarantee to the bank/lending institution where you got your property and then the loan take-out process should begin. A plan to come up with a more detailed explanation in an upcoming post.

By the way, how is your Pag-IBIG insurance for the flood damage caused by Ondoy, has it been released yet?

Hi Jay, if I am interested in a property and wants to bid but would take out a loan from Pag-ibig, how do I do it? What if manalo ako sa bidding pero hindi ma-approve ng Pag-ibig?
