When I wrote this, it was just afer the floods and it would be easy to check if their warehouse got flooded. My theory during that time was that if the foreclosed cars were already inside their warehouses already during Ondoy's visit and the warehouse was not flooded, then it is safe to assume the cars were not flooded. As far as auctions are concerned, from what I understand, all bids should start at the minimum bid price or MBP. As you said, your bid was a bit lower than the suggested price which most banks also refer to as the MBP. I suppose the person in charge of the auction just informed your wife that your bid was the highest among bids as per procedure but was later disapproved by management which evaluates all bids, most probably because your bid was still below the MBP.
