Hi!

Excellent post. I am long time real estate practitioner (since 1993) and also an internet marketer and I whole-heartedly agree that there's no conflict as long as you are focused on your niche: real estate. This could range from services, selling properties, blogging/providing the public with information, selling products to help practitioners and buyers, etc.

However, there's one niche that real estate practitioners can capitalize on the internet and that is buying and selling websites. I know this may be a bit techie to many but the principles are basically the same:

- find the right property (website/ebusiness)
- conduct due diligence (appraisal-market, cost and revenue approaches)
- negotiate properly
- document everything the right way

yes, there are a lot trashy sites out there the same way there are lot of lemon properties that don't give you the returns you need but if you look hard enough, if you know what to look for and do your homework properly you can find a lot of gems.

Why start a website when you can buy an existing one with existing revenue right? By fixing it up (think of house renovation) with the help of techie people, you can improve revenues.

In any case, this may not be for everybody but if for those who have the inclination and passion, it would be like buying makati properties during the 50s and 60s.

It's not a walk in a park to be frank about it but with careful study and research there's a lot of good stuff out there.

Keep it up! Your blog is doing the community a great service.
